Wall of Faces: Mission Accomplished
After 20 years of research and effort, The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) has completed their mission of inding one photo for each service member inscribed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. When VVMF began this effort, the goal was to put a face with a name for each of the 58,281 service members whose names are inscribed on The Wall. To ensure that visitors to The Wall understand that behind each name is a face - a person with a story of a family and friends who were forever changed by their loss, President and CEO of VVMF, Jim Knotts, said in a press release. Today, the Wall of Faces tells these stories through photos and remembrances leftby both friends and family members. We couldn't have done this without the tenacious work of a small army of volunteers across the country. By visiting the VVMF's website, visitors are now able to simply type in the name of the veteran they'd like more information on, and they will be shown their photo and combat information. While the Wall of Faces is complete, the team is now working to get higher-quality photos and biographical data on every individual.

Gretchen Evans Honored with Pat Tillman Award for Service
At this year's ESPYS, retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major Gretchen Evans was honored with the Pat Tillman Award for Service. The Pat Tillman Award for Service is given to an individual with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that honors the legacy of the former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger. Evans is a highly decorated veteran, author, motivational speaker and athlete. After suffering a life-altering injury while serving in the Army, Evans founded Team UNBROKEN, an adaptive racing team of mostly veterans who have experienced life-altering injuries, illness or traumas and applied to compete in the World's Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji. Evans has also been inducted into the U.S. Army Women's Hall of Fame and U.S. Veteran Hall of Fame - all on top of a military career that saw her receive numerous medals and awards, from the Bronze Star to a Presidential Unit Citation Medal, several Global War on Terrorism ribbons and six Meritorious Service Medals.
