The Space Force Celebrates its 2nd Birthday
The newest branch of the military, the U.S. Space Force, celebrated its 2
nd
birthday at the end of 2021. Since its creation in 2019 by former President Donald Trump, the Space Force has been working to build and integrate its force as discoveries and missions for space travel become more prevalent, encourage STEM education for students and collaborate with the U.S. Air Force. As of Dec. 2021, there are over 6,650 active- duty Guardians in the U.S. Space Force, with numbers continuing to grow.

POPS! With Purpose to Support U.S. Veterans and Troops
The company that has been known for its extreme popularity in creating toys and collectibles for entertainments biggest franchises, Funko, has decided to take its efforts to the next level. In a philanthropic endeavor, Funko has released Pops! With Purpose, their newest collection of collectibles that will be sold to support various charities and organizations. The Oldest Living Tuskegee Airman Celebrated 102nd Birthday
Tuskegee Airman, retired Brig. Gen. Charles E. McGee celebrated his 102nd birthday with the Joint Base San Antonio and the 12th Flying Training Wing in December 2021 just prior to passing away in January. McGee's military career spanned nearly three decades, and as a result of his distinguished service and continued mentorship, he was promoted to brigadier general at the age of 100. During his career, he also received the Distinguished Flying Cross with two oak leaf clusters and a Bronze Star Medal. He served as a fighter pilot during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, gaining 30 years of active-duty service in 409 fighter combat missions.
